Winter Skincare Heroes for Over‑40 Skin

The products I reach for when my skin feels tight, dry and in need of some extra love.
Nothing fancy, no trending items – just the unsexy winter staples that actually work and hydrate my over‑40 face when the weather is harsh and cold.

NIVEA Soft – Refreshingly Soft Moisturising Cream
The big (huge!) comforting tub that just gets on with the job.
The big (huge!) comforting tub that just gets on with the job.
Good for: All‑over moisture that sinks in quickly without feeling greasy
Finish: Soft, hydrated, dewy‑looking skin
Why I keep it: Cheap, cheerful and reliable. It does what it’s supposed to AND bonus tip – it works perfectly under makeup. I use this instead of primer.

E45 Lips & Dry Skin Balm
The one I reach for when my lips are thirsty and need some TLC.
Good for: Chapped lips, dry patches and irritated winter skin (not just for lips!)
Finish: Nourishing and softening with no shine
Why I keep it: No fragrance or fuss – it’s a no‑frills, good‑for‑everything secret weapon.

Weleda Skin Food – Rich Intensive Skin Care
Thick, slick… and honestly, unbeatable.
Good for: Very dry areas, makeup prep, restoring glow
Finish: Dewy, protected, deeply moisturised (hello glass skin!)
Why I keep it: A winter classic – nothing else fixes my dry patches like this does

All of these sit beautifully within the same family – simple, effective, and perfect for over‑40 winter skin. I use these all year round but winter specifically I reach for at least one of these daily.
