3 Products, 3 Minutes: My Over‑40 Quick Morning Routine

These are the products I reach for when I want to still look put together with minimum effort (aka when I’ve hit the snooze button more times than I should).
Some mornings there’s time… and some mornings you’ve got three minutes and a face that needs to look alive before you’ve even had a brew. This is my no‑thinking, no‑faffing routine, using just three products that get me out the door looking polished and fresh(er) — even when I’m running late.
Lancôme Skin Idôle 3 Serum Supertint
The quickest way to look instantly fresher.
- Good for: Evening out tone (I have naturally cool-toned, perma-flustered looking skin), adding a healthy glow, smoothing without heaviness
- Finish: Radiant, skin‑like, naturally brightening
- Why I keep it: It blends in seconds with fingers and gives that soft, hydrated glow my skin absolutely thrives on. It never settles into lines, never clings to dryness, and just makes me look… better. The perfect rushed‑morning base.
L’Oréal Telescopic Extensionist Mascara
Quickly becoming one of my favourites, especially when I want fantastic looking lashes in minutes.
- Good for: Not budging, hooded eyes – a great all-rounder
- Finish: Longer, thicker, lifted lashes with zero clumps
- Why I keep it: It outperforms so many expensive mascaras and takes literal seconds to apply. A true grab‑and‑go essential.

Faking a bit of post‑lunchtime glow… before 9am.
- Good for: Adding natural colour to the face, with lots of shades to choose from
- Finish: Soft, buildable, natural flush
- Why I keep it: A quick swirl of one of the peachy‑pink shades and I look instantly healthier. It blends effortlessly, never sits in texture, and pulls the whole look together in under ten seconds.
